WATCH: What is behind Israeli apathy toward massacres in Syria?

The civil war in Syria has been raging for over two years, with President Bashar Assad on one side and the rebels on the other. Tens of thousands of innocent people have been killed in the fighting.

Although information about what is actually occurring in Syria is only a click away, Israeli society, it seems, chooses to stay away and ignore the atrocities taking place on the other side of the border.

      1) Israel is not the policeman of the Middle East.
Each time that a lunatic decides to kill and torture his own people in the middle east, Israel does not have to stand in the middle.
      2) on one side there is Bashar El Assad, eveybody knows him, he is not a good friend of Israel, on the other side, there are the rebels, not united, not representative and definitly not friends of Israel.
      3) two ennmies of Israel kills each other and have taken their own people in hostage, is it bad for Israel? YES!
      4) what can Israel do? If the IDF comes into the picture, this will unit the rebels and the government against us. Who will be killed? US!
      5) the outcome of such a mess in Syria is definitly not good for Israel but there is nothing that we can do about it part of doing like everybody: compting the deads.

Where is the outrage in the Arab world about this fratricidal slaughter. HADASH supports Assad. Other Israeli Arabs and Palestinians support the rebels. Where is there a call to stop the killing machine by having the supporters of each side (Russia and Iran on Assad’s side and the Gulf States and Saudi Arabia on the rebels side) who are funnelling weapons and money to keep the killing going? I don’t hear it. Dp you hear any demands for a cease-fire and peace talks from the Arab world. NO! Just rooting for one side or other to kill the other side out, or just plain apathy, just like we saw during the Algerian and Lebanese civil wars when HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of people were killed.
Remember, the people killing each in Syria are ALL “brother Arabs” and Muslims who love one another. Us, Jews/Zionists, on the other hand, they DON’T like. What would these armed elements do to us if given the chance?

Israel is the only neighbouring country that has not taken in any refugees. They have treated some wounded in hospital ( less then 20 as far as I know) ,and then send them back. Israel as a neighbouring country should do its partin accepting refugees and taking care of them. they can use the Golan for it as the Golan belongs to the Syrians anyway in the first place. Militairy intervention would not be acceptable.
