  • In the war against Iran, the IDF Spokesperson sides with jihadists

The IDF Spokesperson to the Arabic media publishes a video quoting a medieval Muslim scholar who has inspired jihadists from Bin Laden to ISIS. By Yossef Rapoport The latest video published by Avichai Adraee, the IDF Spokesperson for the Arabic media, shows the major quoting the writings of medieval Sunni Muslim scholar Ibn Taimiyyah, in an attempt to expose the "danger" that Shia pose to the Muslim community. According to Adraee, Ibn Taimiyyah’s warnings from the 14th century were only a previous incarnation of the current Iranian threat. [tmwinpost] The video is entirely dedicated to portraying the Shia as “infidels” in Sunni Islam. Adraee opens with a verse…

  • No, Mr. Netanyahu, answers to terrorism are not all the same

The prime minister compares Israel’s predicament with the Palestinians to France’s current one with jihadists, but the true comparison is to France’s struggle with Algeria in the 1950s and early 1960s. In Paris early this week, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu drove home a message he’s been delivering for decades: "Israel supports Europe in its fight against terrorism, and it's time Europe support Israel in the same exact struggle." But he’s wrong. Europe and Israel are not caught up in the same struggle. They don’t face the same terrorism, either. Despite Netanyahu’s claim, which he says was only reinforced by the…

  • France needs no one's advice on fighting Islamist terror

A look at the facts. In Israel and America, France has this reputation of being the ultimate effete, left-liberal country – so politically correct, so multiculti, so morally relativist and scared to death of offending any minority, especially Muslims, that it’s incapable of dealing with the threat of jihadist terror. Israelis and Americans (led of course by Bibi Netanyahu) are now lecturing the French that they have to wake up, get tough, crack down on these bastards or they’re going to be conquered by them.  (A lot of right-wing French are saying the same thing.) I don’t think that’s going…

  • Fight occupation, anti-Semitism, Islamic State at the same time

The first cause must not be a rival, or a left-wing alternative, to the latter two. From what I read and hear, it seems to me the Left is talking about Israel’s occupation and onslaught in Gaza – but not about rising anti-Semitism in Europe or about Islamic State (IS) and jihadism, or at least not about how to combat them. My impression is that leftists see this as a zero-sum game: the more outrage about anti-Semitism or IS, the less about the occupation and Gaza, and since the occupation and Gaza is their main concern (mine too), they pay…

  • Israeli leaders' obscene reaction to the Brussels murders

Netanyahu, Bennett and Liberman used the most horrible sort of anti-Jewish attack as a shield against criticism of their anti-Palestinian policies. Right-wing Israeli leaders get away with such shameless political exploitation of Jewish tragedies, and no one calls them on it. Their use of the Holocaust is of course an old story; the new one is the way they've capitalized on the murders of four people, including a Tel Aviv couple, at the Jewish Museum in Brussels on Saturday. Prime Minister Netanyahu said the killings were caused by “ceaseless incitement against Jews and their state. On European soil, tales and…
