WATCH: Settlers throw stones at Palestinian homes, attack cars

Around 30 settlers from the West Bank outpost of Havat Gilad, near Nablus, attacked the Palestinian village of Jit, around noon on Saturday. According to Rabbis for Human Rights, the Palestinians reached the homes of the village, and threw stones at them. They also smashed windows of two vehicles in the village. No injuries were reported.

Settler attacks are a common occurrence in the occupied West Bank. Just two weeks ago, Mairav Zonszein reported on a settler attack against an Israeli leftist activist, in the South Hebron Hills.

At one point, residents of the village began throwing stones back at the settlers, forcing the latter to retreat:

And did the IAF provide air support for this brave assault? No, they didn’t and as usual it was left to the poor foot-soldiers to give the enemy a bloody nose.

Just wondering how one can tell by watching those videos that these are Israeli settlers and not Palestinians. To someone who is not from the region, what are the identifying characteristics? Or, are we supposed to just take your word for it?

I think you mean “settlers,” not “Palestinians.”

What possible reason could these young men have for doing this? Will Israeli authorities even try to find out? The vanguard settlements are being pampered–with this result. Consequently, this harassment becomes a de facto Israeli policy. Essentially, the State is nurturing the case against settlements.
