As heavy winter weather hit areas throughout the Middle East, compounding Syrian refugee misery in Lebanon and causing flooding in Gaza and parts of Israel, snowfall in higher elevations including Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and other areas of the West Bank caused schools and businesses to close and disrupted transportation throughout the region.
