Mustafa Aslan, a 24-year-old Palestinian who was shot by Israeli soldiers last week, succumbed to his wounds Wednesday.
According to Israeli human rights group B’Tselem, Aslan was shot during a military raid on the Qalandia refugee camp south of Ramallah last Friday.
According to Ma’an News Agency, he was first taken to Ramallah Governmental Hospital before being transferred to Jerusalem’s Hadassah hospital earlier in the day. Asland was pronounced “clinically dead” by Israeli medical officials at around noon.
Israeli forces confirmed the raid and the shooting, saying that they responded with live fire after a grenade was thrown at Israeli forces in the camp.
Aslan’s death raises the Palestinian death toll from “Operation Brother’s Keeper” to six, and comes just days after Israeli forces killed two Palestinians in the northern West Bank, far from the center of search operations for three kidnapped Israeli teens in the southern Hebron region.
