Barring breakthrough in peace talks, EU to label all settlement products

Barring a breakthrough in Israeli-Palestinian “peace talks,” the EU will instruct its 27 member states to label all products from Israeli settlements in the West Bank, an Israeli official told Haaretz.

Of course this is merely a delay of a seemingly inevitable consumer labeling process. The delay, according to Haaretz, was requested by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on behalf of Israel.

According to the report, Kerry hopes to launch a plan for restarting long-dormant peace talks in the middle of June.
