At the last minute, Israel allows Palestinians entry for joint memorial ceremony

Joint Israeli-Palestinian memorial service to take place as planned. I reported here last week on the IDF’s decision not to allow 109 Palestinians to leave the West Bank for the annual joint memorial service organized by Combatants for Peace. Following a media campaign and under the threat of Supreme Court petition, the army decided to allow the Palestinians into Israel, CfP reported this morning.

The ceremony will take place tonight at 9 p.m. local in Tel Aviv.

Update: Only 44 of the 109 Palestinians were allowed to enter Israel for the ceremony.
