Glenn Beck, do me a favor: Don’t come to Israel

Glen Beck today unveiled his program for the “restore courage” rally he plans on holding in Jerusalem in August 24.

YNET reports:

This year, the Wailing Wall will replace Lincoln Memorial as the backdrop for the event, which will take place at Jerusalem’s Old City and the Teddy Stadium simultaneously. The multi-million dollar production is expected to be attended by a convoy of American dignitaries, including former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. US Senator Joe Lieberman, a independent, and Republicans Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee and Congresswoman Michelle Bachman are to join Beck at the rally as well.

Those hoping for a VIP ticket will be disappointed to find out that the 600 prime seating spots at the Davidson Center have all been sold out – for $5,000 a pop. The rest of the spectators will have to settle for a spot at the stadium, or at the Sultan’s Pool archeological site. The main events will be broadcast on giant screens for a better view. The rally is open to the general public with free admission.

This country has enough wackos as it is, we don’t need a whole throng of Republican nutcases flooding the streets of Jerusalem. Not to mention the chance that an event like this, shortly before the expected Palestinian declaration of independence at the UN in September, could trigger riots a-la-Sharon-on-Temple-Mount style.

We don’t need your ramblings. We don’t need your drama.

You will do nothing else but “restore ignorance”.

So do me a favor, Beck. Stay home.

UPDATE: Apparently, most of the Republican candidates mentioned in the YNET report won’t be attending, according to this report. Most probably an Israeli official jumping the gun, the likes of Likudnik Danny Danon.
