  1. Here is an excellent piece by Benny Morris explaining why there is no possibility of an Israel-Palestinian peace agreeement, and further, why there can be no interim agreement nor a unilateral Israeli withdrawal from parts of Judea-Samaria. Finally, FINALLY, people are beginning to realize the truth that the “peace process” is a fraud, and that the Arab-Israeli conflict is a zero-sum game because the Arabs have defined it as such:

  3. Supporting BDS seems incompatible for me with Zionism. The essence of the BDS “movement” (in quotation marks because a string of failures hardly makes a fringe group a “movement”) is demonization of Israel and comparing it to Apartheid South Africa. This comparison means that not only the occupation needs to end, but also Israel within the Green Line needs to be changed to a post-national state. BDS leaders are all one-state supporters, or simply call for the establishment of a Palestinian state along with the “right” of return, which means 4.4 Palestinians should be allowed to enter Israel, creating two Palestines, living side by side in peace and security.

  5. I am not Jewish, but I am a Socialist-Zionist. To me, Socialism & Zionism should be one and the same. It is sad that Zionism (outside of Judaism today) is associated in the West with evangelical nutjobs that claim to “support Israel out of love for the Jewish people” when in fact all they are interested in is using the Jewish state to cause World War III just to fulfill what they think is prophecy. Many of the evangelicals that are Zionists are actually Anti-Semitic. It is also sad that at one time that being on the Left also meant one was a Zionist whereby the mindset on the Left is to be eventually Anti-Zionist today. Strangely enough, many Anti-Zionist on the Left are not Anti-Semitic (but instead just fell pray to Political Correctness).

As a Leftist, many people from both sides of the spectrum are confused by my position on Israel. I am a Leftist and a Zionist, and I feel like my position is the one which is most consistent. Israel may have a current nasty right-wing government at the moment. But then look at Israel on a historical level and then the current right-wing government is meaningless. Historically, Israel was created as a “Jewish Socialist State.” When I think of the formation of Israel in its early days especially; I think of Kibbutz, trade unions, socialized medicine, selective nationalization of industry, civil liberties, gay & lesbian equality, and abolition of the death penalty. Those are key leftist ideals, and Israel is really the only country whereby leftists should be the most supportive in the Middle East.

  7. Let’s face it folks: The Rightwing/Leftwing or progressive/liberal label doesn’t mean much with regards to the Arab/Israel conflict when 3rd world far Rightwing ideology forms the basis of “progressive” pro-Palestinian “Leftist” activism these days.

Any “progressive” acting as a megaphone for far Rightwing fascist regimes like Iran, Hamas, and the PA is in reality a Rightwinger.
