Stella, I apologize if it really is your name. However, I don’t appreciate the comment that the Jews made Europeans angry. In the context of your namesake, it sounds very much like anti-Semitism to me. If people hate or kill – why is this so hard to understand? – it’s the hater or killer’s fault, period. Anything else is a denial of responsibility.

This is my true name. Obvioulsy I am not the collaborator with the same name, who died a long time ago, but I feel she got a bum rap. She tried to save the Jewish people from the anger they caused in Europe, and thus should be recognized as such. I see kindred spirits here in trying to do Tikun Olam for the horrible things you have done in Palestine

Hopefully Egypt will evolve like Lebanon, where El Baradei will be backed by the muscle of the Muslim Brotherhood. Mr Baradei, in order to gain the confidence of the Arab street, will have to rip up the 1979 “peace treaty” with isreael, which is widely unpopular and probably the main reason Mubarak is in trouble. Lebanon has secured itself from foreing intervention with a Sunni PM backed by the muscle of Hezbolla

Peter, I am just reading Western press and blogs focused on Middle east. The only organized and ideologically motivated force in Egypt is Muslim Brotherhood. Any balanced observer knows that.

Good article, but it would be helpful if you could talk to observers other than Israeli officials. With the exception of the United States & Israel, every country supposed his renomination to lead the IAEA for a 3rd term in 2005, so it’s clear not everyone saw him as weak and too accommodating to Iran.
