  • When every fire is a potential arson attack

As incitement against the Israeli Left grows, it is no surprise so many people believed right-wing arsonists were behind the fire at the offices of Israel's oldest human rights organization. Preliminary investigations by Israeli Police and Israel Fire and Rescue Services indicated that the fire that erupted Sunday night in the Jerusalem offices of Israeli human rights group B'Tselem was not the result of arson. The police and fire department published detailed explanations on their findings, according to which the fire was a result of a short circuit in the office's acoustic ceiling. The fire reportedly burned the entire ceiling…

  • The EU might fund leftist NGOs, but Israelis fund the occupation

A proposed law would force human rights NGOs to sport special labels indicating that they receive foreign funding. Maybe it's time to talk about what kind of policies Israeli taxpayers are funding. By Mossi Raz I said it before and I'll say it again: Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked's "Transparency Bill" is a semi-fascistic law that harms democracy and silences dissent in a way that is reminiscent of Putin's Russia. • On left-wing NGOs and asylum seekers, 'Jerusalem Post' is all doublespeak

In an editorial published Tuesday, 'The Jerusalem Post' accused left-wing NGOs of bringing African asylum seekers to Israel in order to undermine the state's Jewish majority. By accusing the Left of such Machiavellian tactics, the Post's editorial board is, quite simply, inciting against those whose political views it disagrees with. The Jerusalem Post saw fit to publish what is ostensibly a critical editorial about the recent protests by African asylum seekers in Israel on Tuesday, but which amounts to little more than a poison-pen letter to the country's left-wing NGOs. Using the familiar trojan horse of the demographic threat Africans pose…
