I’m curious as to whether Larry, Richard and Shamai supported the Israeli attacks on the Iraqi and Syrian reactors.

Larry, I think Shammai would be horrified to be mentioned in the same breath as Jonathan Pollard. Pollard is a zionist who supports the continued existence of ziostan. Shammai is a citizen of the world who has realized that one must choose ziostan or peace, and has chosen ziostan. Shammai recognizes that a nuclear armed Iran actualy brings peace. If Iran had nuclear weapons, the US would not have embarked on the Haliburton wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. A nuclear armed Iran would be able to force ziostan to listen to UN resolutions that the Obama administriation would like to force ziostan to obey, but cannot due to domestic considerations. Perhaps a second term Obama has a chance of casting off the “special relationship” with ziostan, but it is far from certian that Obama will be re-elected. Therefore, a nuclear armed Iran is a necessity, and kudos to Shammai and Richard Silverstein for choosing peace over ziostan

Shamai Leibowitz is a friend. He is deeply conscious of the efforts that Jewish Israelis must make to earn (yes, earn) the right to live in Palestine, after the enormous misery that Zionism has inflicted in our name. If there is any way you could convey my regards to Shamai, please do, and I would be grateful. As for Pollard, the only thing I can say is that the length of his sentence is unconscionable. Anyone who is concerned about cruel and unusual punishment should be protesting the length of his incarceration and demanding Pollard’s release.

I think the real reason Pollard is still in jail (when others who committed similar or worse crime served far less time) that is release would be a huge celebration for the settlers and assorted rightwing nutjobs.

That, and revenge.

Leibowitz betrayed the trust put in him. No matter how Silverstein spins it. He is a vile, dishonest, low-life chronic traitor without the thinnest moral fiber who has bitten the hand that gave him a job and a life. I would say Israel and America should conduct a swap of Jonathan Pollard (to be freed and allowed to make aliyah to Israel) and Mordechai Vanunu (to be freed and allowed to live in America), but I think America would get the short end of the stick.
