Sylvia, Separate but equal, segregation, that has been tried before, in the American South, and it was a collossal failure. The discrimination against nonJewish children in education is FACT, addressed by human rights organizations in lengthy reports, such as Human Rights Watch. I was also reading that funding per Arab child is much less than funding per Jewish child. Why do you choose to support the disparate treatment? There is no justification for classes in bathrooms. Why do you try to explain it, to justify it? None of us are forced to support injustice, we choose our responses to injustice, each and every day of our lives.

To Sylvia
Because Iznogoud (is-no-good) is a French comic character no scholar & cleric paid attention to the description of Evil given by his creator, René Goscinny, a French Jew born in 1926 to a family of immigrants from Poland. Nevertheless it's the most terrifying clinic description of Evil I ever found written in secular & theological books.
Iznogoud (is-no-good: notice the name itself is a negation) is the one who wants to be Good instead of Good, Truth instead of Truth... often the Chosen People instead of the Chosen People... and ultimately, God instead of God. Think of the biblical Serpent in the Genesis.
Another fascinating thing with René Goscinny is that Astérix Le Gaulois, the quintessential French comic character (le Général De Gaulle even said he felt close to him!) is a perfect metaphor for Jewishness: indeed Astérix is the litttle superheroe of the sole invincible gallic village resisting to the Roman Empire...

As usual, the devil is in the details. Unpredictable circumstances CAN cause problems in any school in any country.
.
"Since the beginning of the school year, when 80 students entered seventh grade, the school has been unable to provide them with regular classrooms. At first, they studied in the shade of pine trees, until an improvised classroom was set up in a hallway and another took over what had previously been the school library.

Yesterday, the students' parents had had enough, and after an hour of class the children were sent home. As of next week, they intend to boycott class altogether. The parents' committee said the school had promised to bring in prefabricated classroom trailers, but they haven't arrived, and it's not clear why they weren't installed over the summer.

The Education Ministry said responsibility for maintaining educational facilities lies with the local authority, which owns the school buildings. The ministry said it provided two mobile classrooms to the junior high, as well as special funding to upgrade the school's electrical system. The Dabburiya education department said the two classroom trailers would be arriving today and would be allocated to the seventh grade."

Sylvia, Haaretz reported the story about Arab Israeli children holding class in a bathroom. I am not surprised you missed that story, it is all in the hardness of hearts of Zionists, I suspect. The rampant discrimination practiced against Arabs does not exist for Zionists, they are blind to it. Truth does not exist, it is not a part of their world. But thankfully Zionists do not control the world, God does. So, justice will come. "The corridor used for one class doesn't have a blackboard or a single window; it has no air conditioner and no fans. The only consolation is an old, beautiful mural depicting three female villagers in the midst of a havest. Beneath the mural are two restroom stalls. Students in this classroom don't have to ask permission to go to the restroom. They just walk around the teacher's desk and enter a stall." http://www.haaretz..com/print-edition/news/in-arab-village-dabburiya-the-classroom-is-the-hallway-to-the-toilet-1.385659?localLinksEnabled=false

This is horrible, Henry. Even orchestrated confrontations such as this one on this thread don't get anywhere close.

I would need more than erratic unproven non-referenced arguments. In what way is Zionism racism? What is "Zionism"? There are as many Zionisms as there are ethnic and religious groups. To which of them are you referring?
Please provide the reference where Israeli Arabs hold classes in a bathroom inside Israel. Your word is just not good enough.
I have seen classes held in bathrooms and two by two shelters when rockets were flying on Sderot's civilians. Classes held in bathrooms as a matter of policy won't fly not even with the most fanatic of Israel bashers.

SYLVIA, The racism lies in refusing to acknowledge others in the land also have equal inherent basic human rights, refusing to acknowledge all have basic human rights that deserve respect and protection. I was reading recently about an Arab school inside Israel, where class was being held in a bathroom. When we treat some people like this, what speaks out loudest to me is what it says about us,our humanity. And this is prejudice and racism, and it results from Zionism. I am not an Israeli, but I am an American, from a country funding this racism, Zionism, the Occupation. So, all that is being done there, I might as well be doing it with my own hands. That is how deeply I feel responsibility over the human rights abuses. And if I was from somewhere else in the world, I would still feel responsible, as a human being, as a human being watching what is being done to other human beings in Israel/Palestine.

In what way is the belief that Jews have the right of self-determination in their ancestral land, as a response to prejudice and anti-semitism in their former countries, constitutes racism?
