East Jerusalem solidarity protest with the Egyptian people

Yesterday, after walking through the Old City, I exited through the Damascus Gate and stumbled upon a small but very lively protest by Palestinian Jerusalemites in solidarity with Tunisia and Egypt, happening just paces away from the weekly Sheikh Jarrah protest. Interestingly, most of the protestors were women, young and old, which stands in stark contrast to the street sites in Tunisia and Egypt, where it is almost all men. They chanted emphatically that from Tunis to Amman, freedom will prevail; that Jerusalem will not be silent either in the face of repression.
