I understand the situation in Issawiye and cannot blame the youth and children of that neighborhood for fighting back in whatever means their culture and/or upbringing offers them, however, as long as this struggle against occupation continues to be violent -- I, as a peace activist, and furthermore -- as an Israeli Jew, who cannot help somewhat sympathizing with those soldiers / security force members just doing their job (regardless of how inhuman and how unjust I see that "job" as) -- as long as the struggle continues to be violent, I will continue to boycott it and reserve my participation to non-violent areas such as Sheikh Jarrakh. May we all have a peaceful week and a happy Hannukkah, regardless of our ethnicity, faith or political views.

It was a unique event yesterday. For the first time Israelis and Palestinians demonstrated together in Issawiya. It gives a bit of hope.
