		<description>The constitutional amendments passed easily. This means there will be a quick election which will not allow the liberal groups time to organize and will give an advantage to the Muslim Brotherhood and the rump NDP which is supported by the military.  The New York Times article pointed out that the relatively secular urban elites who supported the revolution are only a minority of the voters. The conservative rural voters will ultimately be the deciding vote and during the campaign it was made clear that &quot;religious&quot; voters supported the YES vote which the Muslim Brotherhood wanted.  So much for liberal democracy in Egypt.
