The Kaufmans came out in full force once again, for the second weekly baby carriage protest in Tel Aviv.

The route was different, there were fewer people – but we kept on shouting our hearts out for a better future for our kids.

Less people, but still a nice turnout. And this time it was organized even better, with water for the grown ups and grape juice for the kids at the end of the short march.

Two singers even showed up. Miri Mesika, who I’m not particularly fond of – but I will hand it to her, she does have a voice – sent chills up some spines as she sang one of her hits, the one about the family waiting for their young daughter to come home.

Here she is – sorry about the shaky filming…

Then Etti Ankri showed up, a female rocker in the 80’s and 90’s who became religious. She said she couldn’t play guitar because of Jewish law, but that she could sing a-capella. And it was actually a very moving moment. She sang her hit “Millions” – and the lyrics really hit home:

“And there are millions like me,
wandering the streets,
there are millions like me,
in all shapes and sizes,
There are millions like me,
mortal folk,
With no money, not worth a dime”
