Marirav, the fact that Oren writes a letter that corrects some of the facts in the article proves that Oren “concedes Israel’s interference in U.S. politics” ? That’s silly.
However the fact that you would make that your headline for this article proves that the journalism your interested in is yellow.

It looks to me that Big Buffoun is making the Israeli demands on the Obama Administration such that the Republican candidate can gain a foothold amongst Jewish voters, like ChabAd hiding some mystical devotin to the Republicans; including the making him deny Pollard’s request in such a scandalous light – because the President once pardoned their Florida fiend from serving a sentence in a different BB. just my hunch, but I think the pt of oren mentioning the super tuesday phone call was because the framing of “Mr. Netanyahu delivered a personal briefing” read as tho netanyahu initiated the phone call and oren wanted us to know he didn’t. it was a who called who little factoid.
when romney gave an interview to Israel Hayom these were his words:”ROMNEY: The actions that I will take will be actions recommended and supported by Israeli leaders. I don’t seek to take actions independent of what our allies think is best, and if Israel’s leaders thought that a move of that nature would be helpful to their efforts, then that’s something I’ll be inclined to do. But again, that’s a decision which I would look to the Israeli leadership to help guide. I don’t think America should play the role of the leader of the peace process, instead we should stand by our ally. Again, my inclination is to follow the guidance of our ally Israel, as to where our facilities and embassies would exist.” iow romney did a lot worse than just ‘suggest’ he would not make any significant policy decisions about Israel without consulting Mr. Netanyahu. this is a case of too much feet licking and completely unbecoming for a person running for a leadership role in american politics. no one is going to be forgetting romney said this during the election cycle. i am very excited about an election process where people actually argue over israel. neither obama or romney will, they will just declare their devotion over and over. but the people will, finally. i’m sure oren is trying to stave off the argument.

Doesn’t the US interfere regularly in Israeli internal affairs. Remember Clinton sending James Carville and the rest of the gang to help Barak be elected in 1999 (for all the good it did for them-No Nobel Prize to make people forget Monica Levinsky)? Remember on the night that Barak won the election Clinton said “I feel like a kid with a new toy”?

Years ago, I wrote a letter which was (possibly edited) published in NYT and, amazingly!, answered by some Zionist big-shots who said, “even if we accepted the writer’s suggestion to end all aid to Israel” — although (in this letter anyhow) I’d made no such suggestion.

Happens all the time. These guys have their own points to make, axes to grind. Actually reading what someone else wrote only gets in the way.
